I am a very detail-oriented person. But people like me, sometimes we need another person like us, or just someone with patience and love, to notice what we cannot.
It is curious that when performing a kata I can think of dozens of mistakes I am making, of minutiae, of related exercises to improve or avoid them, of scenarios around me…
And yet, J. comes to me and suggests what I cannot see. Especially what is physically unattainable for me.
He is my mirror.
«Can I give you some advice?», «Of course!» I will never say no, you are more than welcome, no matter how bad I am doing this movement or this cut, and, even if sometimes you tell me obvious things I already know or noticed, I will always want to know your point of view and I will be open to your comments.
The kindness and the respect you exude say it all.
You are the mirror I am missing and I appreciate very much the simple act of approaching me to correct me. Thank you for this and for what we still have ahead of us.
